Snowboard shapes typically use a wider platform with defined sidecut, directional or twin geometry, and a continuous running edge for turning and stability on snow.

Ski shapes are narrower and longer, with separate left and right skis, dedicated tip and tail profiles, and dimensions tuned for piste, freeride, touring, or other applications.
